March 27th, 2009 · No Comments

Colorful, bright, exotic – those are just a few of the words used to describe Matthew Williamson and his coveted collection of clothes. The British designer is next in line to produce a lower price collection for H&M. Unlike the previous designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Victor & Rolf and Stella McCartney this will be the [...]

Yankees News Keeps Getting Worse: Bob Sheppard Probably Won’t Return New Stadium’s Opening

March 27th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Attending a Yankees game without hearing Bob Sheppard’s voice is like a baseball game without hotdogs. Sheppard is in his late 90s and has been the Yankees’ public address announcer since 1951. He was out all last season recovering from a bronchial infection. Fans hoped he would be back for the 2009 season and ready [...]

RIP Yankee Stadium

March 26th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Today it was reported that the old Yankee Stadium will be chopped up and sold to fans in little pieces as part of a $10 million-plus deal the team struck with the city. This is a HUGE slap in the face to Yankee fans, who were always under the impression (and told) that the old stadium would remain intact and used as a convention center. Not only are they going to begin demolition soon, but they plan to start before the April 16 Opening Day. Hearing that they plan to tear down a New York piece of history makes me want to take the train to 161st right now and carve out a piece of the stadium for myself. Isn’t there laws against tearing down ‘historical’ buildings. Well, this is our history!

March 26th, 2009 · No Comments

In Hermes We Trust.
So when I heard there was going to be a Hermes Sample Sale today I was estatic but cautious. After last weeks false rumors of a Lanvin Sample Sale, I didn’t want to get my hopes up. On a way to a meeting I stopped by the Metropolitan Pavilion to see if it was [...]

Friday Night Lights Star Spotted!

March 25th, 2009 · No Comments

SPOTTED: Gaius Charles, who plays Brian “Smash” Williams on Friday Night Lights at Starbucks on Park Avenue and 39th Street. He was sitting in the window, facing the outside sidewalk. He’s obviously not trying to be discreet and hide from his fans considering the rush hour traffic passing him by. I happen to be a HUGE fan [...]

Rock Stars or Kids Band???

March 24th, 2009 · 1 Comment

As an avid concertgoer, opening acts are usually my least favorite part the event. Who wants to see some unknown & barely audible group fill time when you can barely contain your excitement as the second’s countdown to Madonna, The Rolling Stones or U2 taking the stage? There have been 2 occasions when I was [...]
