Variety is reporting that one of my favorite 80’s movies ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ is going to get remade. Twentieth Century Fox and Lakeshore Entertainment are in the process of remaking “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” the 1985 teen dance comedy that Sarah Jessica Parker, Shannon Doherty, and Helen Hunt. Michelle Morgan will write the new version of the film, which originally centered around two teens who share a passion for dancing and the hit show “Dance TV.”

I happen to own the DVD of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” which is an awesome 80’s favorite. Who can forget the dance-o-rama which included a nail biting, climax ending dance off on “Dance TV” after Sarah Jessica Parker snuck out of her house to compete. Totally tubular 80’s fun! Don’t forget that Carrie Bradshaw started her career on Broadway so that girl can dance. So for your viewing pleasure, a trip down memory lane….
