Broadway’s finest gathered at Radio City Music Hall last night to toast the Great White Way and celebrate the Tony Awards. Musical “Billy Elliot” dominated with 10 wins and Poison front-man Bret Michaels got knocked out on stage, but the real story is that Radio City Music Hall ran out of liquor. Is Broadway full of booze hounds?
Famespy Erick, who sat in the second mezzanine with the “regular” people, spoke of the horror that sent shock waves through the venue when the first level bars ran out of booze. So what did Radio City do in a pinch? They cut off the alcohol supply to the second level guests in order to replenish the first level bars.
Radio City Music Hall has hosted more events than I could count, so I find it hard to believe that they came up short when stocking the bars. So that begs the question, is Broadway boozing it up so much that they cleaned them out? Maybe it was those three Billy Elliott teens sneaking beers to their seats.
Some of the stars in attendance last night were Nicole Kidman (who Erick said was strikingly beautiful), Kevin Spacey, James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, Marcia Gay Harden, Elton John, Will Ferrell, and Anne Hathaway.
