On Sunday night CBS aired the live broadcast of the Tony Awards and during the telecast’s opening production number rocker Bret Michaels was knocked out when he was hit by a falling piece of the stage.
Rock of Love reality star Bret Michaels, who hit the stage with his band Poison along with Tony-nominated Constantine Maroulis and the rest of the cast of Broadway’s Rock of Ages, ran into a descending set piece of scenery when he missed his mark while performing the 80’s hit “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” Watching the video on YouTube, he was knocked flat on his back like a wrestler who had been cloths-lined.
Tony’s spokeswoman Christina Stejskal says the rocker “missed his mark.” Though it was reported that Michaels had broken his nose in the fall, Stejskal confirmed he did not break his nose, but doesn’t know the extent of his injury. “Rock of Ages” is an 80’s hair band musical featuring songs from Journey, Whitesnake, and other 80’s hair bands. It stars former American Idol Constantine Maroulis as an aspiring rock star.
