When life gives you lemons, make lemonade…or Limoncello.

dannys drunk“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is one of my favorite shows. The hilarious sitcom, which airs on FX, was created and developed by friends Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day. The show follows the exploits of a group of self-centered friends who run Paddy’s Pub, an unsuccessful Irish Bar in South Philly. Danny DeVito joined the cast as Frank, the father to cast members Dennis (Howerton) and Dee (Kaitlin Olson).

its-always-sunny_080827The cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” received a visit from a local Philadelphia Fox reporter Jenn Frederick on Wednesday morning and DeVito gave her an interview she’ll never forget. As they were live on the air, DeVito sipped a beer and joked about the reporter’s childbirth and short skirt. On the subject of Frederick’s new baby girl, DeVito asked, “Was she cute coming out? Did you get a picture of the legs and everything?” A squirming Frederick was a pro and laughed off DeVito’s comments, while finishing the interview. But DeVito’s rep claims that the actor was doing what he does best: acting. “It’s all a put on,” Danny’s rep told RadarOnline. “I was only trying to make a TV interview fun,” Danny later said adding, “In the scene the TV people were covering, my character was drinking (pretend beer).  When you see the scene on the show — and buy the DVD! — you will understand.  It’s called acting.”

sunnyThis isn’t the first time Danny DeVito was buzzed on morning TV. DeVito appeared on “The View” in 2006 noticeably drunk after a night out with George Clooney drinking Limoncello. DeVito went on to launch his own line of the lemon-flavored Italian liqueur, called Danny DeVito’s Premium Limoncello which is produced and bottled on an estate of lemon trees on Italy’s Sorrento peninsula.

lol what the hell, I don’t know who to believe but I want to believe DeVito just because I love him and love the show. Either way he makes the thing so much funnier, and if it does take him a few beers in the morning to do it, why bother haha
