Emma Watson is quickly becoming my one of my favorite fashionista’s to watch. We’ve seen her blossom into a beautiful young lady and with a mature age and public status, she is dressing the part of a movie star. Red Carpet Fashion Awards posted this beautifully done photo shoot from the August 2009 issue of Teen Vogue, comparing the looks worn by Emma and their red carpet debuts. The pictures are simply divine: rich and warm hues dominate, perfect for fall. On the cover, Watson is decked out in a D&G satin top and embroidered bell-shaped skirt from the Fall 2009 collection. This is not the nerdy Hermoine we have watched in the Harry Potter movies.
Last week I posted photos of Emma wearing a fashion forward Rodarte dress in addition to her sultry ads for Burberry. After seeing this photo shoot, I’ve realized that the young girl I’ve grown to love in the Harry Potter films is now an elegant young lady with an impressive fashion instinct already. The sixth installment of the Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, hits theaters this month and the seventh book is being split between two films.
In addition to D&G, Emma models looks from BCBG Max Azria, Erin Fetherston, Burberry, Moschino Cheap & Chic and Monique Lhuillier. What I love is how she can pull off the different looks by being lady-like and demure in Burberry and then pushes the envelope with an Erin Fetherston bubble skirt and leopard print tights. She’s such a fashion chameleon, owning whatever look she is going for. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
In addition to modeling fabulous clothes, rumor has it that Emma might be designing as well. The News of the World reported yesterday that Watson is either designing or directing the creation of a clothing line to benefit UNICEF. No confirmation has been given at this time, however her close friendship with Karl Lagerfeld should come in handy since it’s said she’ll be hitting him up for advice and direction in her new role.
