Mattel has recently announced new coming attractions to its lineup of Barbie dolls in versions of the hero and heroine from “Twilight,” Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen and Kristen Bell’s Bella Swan. I wonder if a life size, blow up doll version is also in the works, because I expect the Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) doll to be the smoochable, bed buddy of Twihards everywhere.

The Edward Cullen Ken doll and Bella Swan Barbie are recommended for ages 6 and 7 on the Toys R Us Web site, though I predict them to be a hit with a far older crowd as well. They’ll be available in stores starting in October.

The Edward doll is luminescent with the character’s “shimmering complexion” and “trademark gold eyes,” according to the Toys R Us Web site.
