Even wizards can catch the swine flu.

Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is recovering from a “mild bout” of the H1N1 virus, his publicist said Saturday. The 20-year-old, who plays Harry Potter’s best friend Ron Weasley, had to take a few days off filming the latest hocus pocus flick after falling ill. But the young wizard is now over his coughing spell after Grint’s doctor determined that the actor is not contagious and well enough to return to the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Grint will also able to walk the red carpet in London Tuesday at the world premier of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s hit books.

“It has just been confirmed that Rupert Grint has taken a few days out of filming due to a mild bout of swine flu,” his publicist said in a statement. “He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members at the junket and premieres this week and will then return to filming directly afterwards. Other scenes were shot in his absence which did not require his involvement and thus filming was not disrupted,” the publicist added. Filmmakers of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the series, were able to shoot around Grint’s absence and no production days were lost, the rep says. JK Rowling’s final book of the Harry Potter series is being split into two films. Grint has starred in all the Harry Potter films.
