‘American Idol’ judge Kara DioGuardi wed teacher-turned-general contractor Mike McCuddy during a small ceremony in Maine. In Touch Weekly reports that the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter married during a small afternoon ceremony held in Prospect Harbor, Maine on July 5. The couple, who got engaged in December, first met when McCuddy, 34, built the house next to Kara’s in Maine.
The couple exchanged vows in front of about 30 guests at the United Methodist Church, which is located across the street from her house. The blushing bride wore a stunning, strapless gown designed by Vera Wang.
“I feel great. What was most unbelievable about the experience was when I looked out at the church and saw all these people that were so important to me and Mike, who were there for us,” said DioGuardi, 38. “It was pretty powerful. I was very emotional and I’m not somebody who breaks down and cries.”
Luckily the weather behaved for the ceremony: “It’s been raining in Maine for 60 days. The only day that was nice was yesterday!”
