Rihanna is known for being experimental with her hairstyles and her recent razor sharp cropped bob launched a million knock-offs. I don’t know if her latest look will be as popular though.

Rihanna is all about maintaining her fashion-forward mane so the Barbadian singer hit the Manhattan streets yesterday showing off her feathery head of hair and a close shave around the base. The daring ‘do is just the latest look for the singer, who changes her hairstyles nearly as often as her clothes. With the back and sides shaved, but still maintaining a mop on top, it gives the 21-year-old singer a kind of Mohican-inspired updo.

The singer was dressed in jeans, a sleeveless black sheer top and shoulder grazing earrings as she hit NYC Italian eatery, Da Silvano, yesterday but the attention was on her hair, or lack there of it. Earlier this month she showed off a far sleeker do, wearing her tresses in a slanted undercut as she celebrated Independence Day in Las Vegas.

Rihanna is not the only singer shedding her locks though. Both singer Cassie and Carmen Electra have recently shaved the sides of their heads. Both have longer manes than Rihanna, but they seem to be starting a new hair trend. Will you follow along?
