The surviving members of the Jackson 5 will put on 2 memorial shows to mark Michael’s birthday next month, Jermaine has confirmed.
The Sun is reporting that Jermaine, 54, will team up with Tito, Marlon and Jackie at London’s O2 Arena on August 29 and 30. O2 is the venue where Michael was due to make his comeback this month, but died weeks before his opening night. The brothers are set to be joined by performers who played at the King of Pop’s Staples Center memorial show in addition to other performers such as their sister Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
In addition, Jermaine wants to stage a string of further shows in the UK: “The fans want to be a part of something. We are going to do tribute shows at the O2. That’s still not big enough, but we’ll figure something else out after that. I want to see something where people can really feel his love and sing his songs. The brothers will do something, Janet will do something. They’re speaking to Usher, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder. We have to keep his legacy alive.”
