Comedy genius Larry David confirmed that the four main characters that made his show “Seinfeld” the top-rated comedy of the 90s – Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards – will reunite for the first time in more than a decade on David’s hit HBO series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
The “Curb” story line features the NBC sitcom’s cast members playing themselves in a “Life imitates art” story line as they agree to a series revival. The “Seinfeld” cast will appear in five episodes that track the process of restarting the classic sitcom, picking up the characters’ lives 11 years later.
He worked closely with Seinfeld on the show-within-a-show script, but said an actual “Seinfeld” reunion is unlikely. “For years, I’ve been asked about a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion,” said David, co-creator of the hit NBC comedy. “We’ll see the read-through, parts of rehearsals, the show being filmed. You won’t see the entire (mock ‘Seinfeld’ episode).”
The seventh season of Larry David’s HBO comedy will premiere September 20.
