Carrie’s back!

To the delight of fashionistas everywhere, “Sex and the City” has started filming the sequel of the eagerly anticipated movie. “Sex and the City2” comes after the hugely successful “Sex and the City: The Movie” which gave fans a chance to see what their four favorite ladies had been up to since the HBO series ended.

Yesterday, Sarah Jessica Parker was beaming as she stepped back into the designer shoes of her character, Carrie Bradshaw, in NYC. Parker’s return to work comes 10 weeks after a surrogate mother gave birth to her twin girls Marion and Tabitha. Looking every inch the stylish fashion icon we’ve grown to love, Parker wore a slinky white dress paired with sky high Christian Louboutin Pigalle leopard-print heels.

All four of the female leads, including Parker, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs), Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) are back the sequel, which is scheduled for release in May 2010.

Yesterday cameras rolled as Parker shot several takes of a scene in which she leaves the luxe apartment building her and Big (Chris Noth) bought and sold in the first film. “She comes out as Carrie Bradshaw, puts on her sunglasses, looks around and starts walking,” the onlooker told US Weekly.

While little details have been away about the plot, does the lack of wedding ring on Parker’s finger suggest all is not well in her marriage to Mr. Big? The first “Sex and the City” movie saw Carrie and Mr. Big finally tie the knot in City Hall after the commitment-phobic left her at the altar. While producers are keeping quiet over the plot, internet rumors suggest Mr. Big’s healthy bank balance may be badly dented by the current economic crisis.

Kim Cattrall promised her man-eating character, Samantha Jones, would be a lot more fun now that she is single after splitting from long-term love Smith Jarrod (Jason Lewis) at the end of the first film. She said: ‘The movie was so much fun to do and be part of again. Samantha single is more fun that you can ever imagine.’

Last year’s film was well received with both critics and audiences and grossed $412 million in the worldwide box office.
