SNEAK PEEK: Jimmy Choo’s Over-the-Knee Boots for H&M

September 1st, 2009 · No Comments

jimmy-choo-x-hm-otk-bootsAs I reported in June, Tamara Mellon, designer of the iconic luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo, is designing shoes, bags, and a full women’s collection for H&M.

An image from Jimmy Choo’s H&M line leaked online today featuring an over-the-knee boot which will be part of the high-end shoe designers collaboration with mass market retailer H&M.

The collection, which will include shoes, bags and accessories, hits stores on November 14. While previous designer collaborations have offered designer items at non-designer price points, it’s surprising that these boots will sell for $345.

Although the boot is hot and $345 isn’t that unreasonable for a pair lower-priced Jimmy Choo’s, I have to say that I’d rather spend my money on a pair of soft leather boots that will last rather than the non-leather pair being offered. I recently attended a Brian Atwood sample sale and purchased the most divine pair of slouchy boots in the softest buttery leather imaginable for $220.

An H&M spokeswoman said the shoes are expected to range from approximately $50 for a pair of ballet flats to approximately $275 for a pair of boots. A pair of ballet flats from this season’s main Jimmy Choo collection cost around $400 so I plan to grab as many as possible. Plus an earlier photo released by H&M showed two sexy stilettos that will be featured in the collection that look positively breathtaking.
