Speaking out for the first time since her boyfriend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein passed away, Hayley Wood, his girlfriend of nearly a year, set the record straight on reports that blame his death on their breakup.

Contrary to rumors that the two had ended their relationship, Wood, 22, insists that she and Adam, 36, were still a couple at the time of his death. “Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting,” Hayley said. “We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much.”

haley-am-bMeanwhile, a new report from the New York Post alleges that DJ AM confessed to falling off the wagon and was planning to get help for his addiction, promising to check himself into rehab the day before he died.

When questioned about the claim, Goldstein’s rep said, “As soon as his friends, representation and his AA sponsor learned that he relapsed, which was only a couple days before he passed away, they sprung into action to try and get him to agree to go to rehab.”

DJ AM had been missing appointments and acting erratically in recent weeks – behavior that concerned his manager and recovery sponsor. The pair hopped a red-eye to New York City on Wednesday night to confront him at his SoHo apartment on Thursday morning, pals have told law-enforcement officials. Upon their arrival, Goldstein refused to see his manager but allowed the sponsor inside.

Goldstein promised his sponsor and manager that he’d check himself into a rehab clinic in California after making a scheduled gig in Las Vegas on Friday night, friends told law-enforcement officials. But when Goldstein missed the flight to Las Vegas on Friday and didn’t return phone calls, friends brought cops to his apartment, where they found Goldstein dead from an apparent overdose. Goldstein’s apartment was littered with small plastic bags filled with painkillers Vicodin and oxycodone and anti-anxiety medications Xanax and lorazepam, sources told The Post.

In other news, a private memorial for DJ AM will be held Thursday evening in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium. The memorial will be “a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein,” reads an invite for the memorial, which is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

57465335In a nod to Goldstein’s battle with addiction, “The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting,” continues the invite. “Adam’s friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there.”

Last October, just weeks after a Lear jet he was traveling in crashed, Goldstein deejayed for Jay-Z at the Hollywood Palladium’s reopening.
