DJ AM’s family and friends, including his girlfriend Hayley Wood and friend Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, mourned the star’s loss at his funeral in Los Angeles yesterday. The 36-year-old, real name Adam Goldstein, was laid to rest in a private Jewish service at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary. The hearse also carried the prized turntable DJ AM used in spin tunes.

Travis Barker, who Goldstein survived a fatal plane crash with last September, was present at the service in addition to actor Scott Caan and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Reports that Nicole Richie, who is due to give birth to her second child, and Joel and Benji Madden attended the ceremony are inaccurate.

Pallbearers dressed in casual clothes and their best sneakers in tribute to Goldstein, who was an avid sneaker collector with a rumored 1,000+ pairs. Struggling to cope with the untimely passing of the famous DJ, his girlfriend Hayley Wood broke down and was comforted by a grief stricken Barker. Shortly after 4pm, his coffin was lowered into the ground, helped by actor Scott Caan.
Family and friends will honor the star DJ again Thursday night in a memorial service at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. “The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting,” according to the invitation. “Adam’s friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life, are welcome.”
An autopsy showed eight undigested OxyContin pills in the 36-year-old entertainer’s stomach, a law enforcement source said. He was found lying on a bag of crack cocaine with one last pill in his mouth.
