“The Hills” is the best thing that ever happened to Whitney Port’s career. Years ago we were introduced to the likeable, sunny blond from Los Angeles who was a fellow intern at Teen Vogue with “The Hills” star Lauren Conrad. After leaving Teen Vogue, Whitney moved on to work in public relations firm People’s Revolution, where Conrad eventually landed a job as well. Port became such a popular character on the show that MTV gave her a chance to go it on her own with “The City,” which followed Whitney on her move to New York City to pursue her dream job with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Now, she is embarking on the next phase of her life as she prepares to stage her very own fashion show in the tents at New York Fashion Week.

On September 10 at 2 p.m., she’ll show her Whitney Eve Spring/Summer 2010 collection back-to-back with Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman, who are all represented by public-relations firm People’s Revolution, which is the subject of forthcoming Bravo reality show “Kell on Earth” and also Whitney’s former employer on “The City.”

“The City” is currently filming in New York and is set to return to MTV on September 29. No word if nemesis Olivia Palermo, who was chosen for a coveted job over Port on the season finale and now works for Elle Magazine, will be making an appearance.
