Even if you won’t be attending the roster of fashion shows at New York Fashion Week, Anna Wintour’s international shopping extravaganza on September 10 is sure to provide a fashion fix to all.
Fashion’s Night Out is bound to be a spectacular event, giving the public a chance to participate in fashionable events all over the tri-state area. Seven hundred stores across all five boroughs will stay open until 11pm giving shoppers the chance to hop around NYC and attend multiple events.
Every fashion retailer across the five boroughs has been invited to encourage the fun of fashion again—flagships, tiny boutiques, massive department stores, young designers, mainstream chains, and niche luxury names alike—by keeping its doors open late on the evening of September 10 and to implement creative customer experiences welcoming all. Over 700 retailers and designers across New York City are confirmed participants in Fashion’s Night Out. Most events will take place from 6 P.M. until 11 P.M.
Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour said in her press release for the event: “Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”
Anna Wintour is hoping that Fashion’s Night Out will inject a much needed influx of cash into struggling designer’s pockets by enticing shoppers to set out on a nationwide spending spree, reintroducing us to the joy of shopping. In addition to costly investment pieces, the festivities will also provide a tote bag full of swag for the budget conscience shoppers.
Wintour will be among the fashion icons participating in an evening of style along with Michael Kors and “a surprise celebrity guest,” at Macy’s Queens Center location at 5 pm to sign t-shirts for the first 50 customers.
