Gordon Gekko came to symbolize Eighties excess and his declaration that ‘lunch is for wimps’ became a catch cry for Wall Street boys. The latest story will see Gekko emerge back into the modern financial world after serving time in Sing Sing maximum security prison in New York state for insider trading.

Jacob, played by Shia LaBouf, partners with the disgraced corporate raider for a mission to alert the financial community to the impending credit crisis. The pair also to seek out who is responsible for the death of the young financier’s mentor Lewis Zabel, played by Langella.

wall st2Director Oliver Stone explains: ‘When Gekko comes out of prison in the beginning of this movie, he essentially has to redefine himself, redefine his character. He’s looking for that second chance.’

The film, titled Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, is expected to be released in April 2010.
