The Real Housewives of New York” is welcoming another “housewife” into the mix

The NY Post identified Sonja Morgan, a real-life friend of cast member Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, as the newest member of pack. The show is currently filming in New York City and Morgan is said to make her debut later this season.

MorganSonja Morgan comes to the show with an upper-class pedigree and full social calendar certain to make her an interesting addition. As the wife of John Adams Morgan, the great-grandson of financier JP Morgan, the 45-year-old socialite has been profiled in high-society magazine Quest and had a career as a movie producer. Under the banner Sonja Productions, Morgan executive produced the 2006 thriller “The Marsh,” starring Gabrielle Anwar and Forest Whitaker.

According to the New York Social Diary Web site, which identifies her as Tremont-Morgan, she says she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She met her future husband while working as the hostess at Madison Avenue restaurant Bice. The couple lives in New York with their daughter, but divide their time between their house in the Bahamas and they yacht.

sonja_morganContrary to reports, Morgan will not be replacing Frankel, who is developing her own reality show about her love life and career as a natural foods chef for Bravo. The network has confirmed that all six of the “Housewives” will continue to be the stars of the show’s third season. Still, with Frankel preparing for her own series, it’s possible Bravo is looking to Morgan as a future “Housewives” regular, should the series be picked up for a fourth season.

Bethenny Frankel confirmed today that she is NOT leaving the show and is continue to film for season 3 of the reality series.

BETHENNY FRANKEL“The spinoff news is totally true, but me being replaced after five episodes is totally false,” she told Us Weekly.  ”I haven’t started doing the spinoff show. I have started doing Housewives.”

Asked about the addition of Sonja Morgan to the cast Frankel had this to say: “If you do the math, they replaced someone on Atlanta, and on Orange County, they only have two of the originals. But I don’t know anything that you don’t know. I would imagine that you don’t have to be Angela Lansbury to figure out that eventually they may replace one of us.”

Meanwhile, Bethenny’s show seems to be a sore subject with her fellow castmates. “What’s funny is nobody on my cast has said a single word to me about it,” Frankel said. “It must be a giant elephant [in the room].” She went on to say, “I hope they would be supportive just because they’re human being. But do I care [that nobody's said anything]? Nah. I don’t even think about it. I’ve got too much to focus on [than] to focus on girl trouble.”

Frankel also says she hasn’t begun filming her as-yet-untitled solo show nor does she have a specific plan for what it will be about. “People ask me what it’s going to be,” she says. “It’s going to be whatever I’m doing, whatever my life is, whatever my career is, whatever my relationship is – whatever is truthfully happening to me. If I could predict the future, I’d know what the show is going to be about.”

Meanwhile, Bethenny didn’t divulge too much information on what “Housewives” fans can expect next season, but she did have this to say: “Some relationships have stayed the same and some have changed. There have been a lot of shifts. It’s quite an explosive show.”
