Spring / Summer 2010 Fashion Week is over and although I am sorry to see it go, I finally have time to pour through the images of Paris Fashion Week.
The theme at Hermes was “Love All,” which could be my personal motto for all things Hermes, especially the handbags. Jean Paul Gaultier is a master at reinvention (he did design tour costume for Madonna) and has successfully revamped the iconic Birkin bag with a larger shape and longer handle, while still keeping the classic aesthetic of the world’s finest handbag.

When a woman shops at Hermès, she expects timeless quality that will last for years to come. With that in mind, Gaultier’s tennis influence was evident with a collection of Kelly and Birkin bags with tennis bags and ball carriers attached. Obviously the idea of a crisp white Kelly bag at a local tennis court makes me cringe since I would hug and kiss mine every night if I had one. But Hermès’ timeless classics had me drooling at a creamy lizard Birkin, exotic skin clutches in rich colors and oversize Birkins casual enough to throw over your shoulder.
Also, on display was an array of to-die-for jewelry featuring Hermès’ famous cuff in creamy shades, strands of silver-link chains and armfuls of bangle bracelets.
