The concept for Miley Cyrus’ cameo in “Sex and the City 2” is brilliant!

Let me set the scene. Miley Cyrus hits the red carpet at a movie premiere for Samantha’s on-and-off beau, Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) wearing (gasp!) the exact same dress as Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall).  Considering that Samantha is always pushing the envelope, it’s not surprising that she would be caught with the same ensemble as a 17-year-old, but the question is who rocks it better.

The ladies were all smiles during breaks from filming, but I am sure that Samantha Jones won’t take this lying down. The duo was photographed wearing silver sequin strapless mini-dresses with the same black hardware belt and matching knee boots. Fashion showdown?

Cast members Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw),  Chris Noth (Mr. Big) and Mario Cantone (Anthony Marantino) were also at the shoot, which took place at the famed Ziegfeld Theater. A marquee revealed the Smith Jerrod movie to be titled “Heart of the Dessert.”

Cyrus isn’t the only celeb making a cameo in the sequel, out next May. Peneleope Cruz will reportedly play a banker in the comedy. Project Runway’s Tim Gunn and Liza Minnelli will also make appearances.
