Two weeks ago I revealed that Sonja Morgan is the latest “Housewife” to join the “Real Housewives of New York City” cast. Now it’s been revealed that Jennifer Gilbert will also join the six NYC Housewives, bringing the total to eight lovely ladies. Each is currently listed as a “recurring” character, as opposed to a series regular but with such strong personalities, can the new ladies hold their own?

Sonja Morgan and Jennifer Gilbert will join a cast of characters which includes Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Killoren-Bensimon, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin on The Real Housewives of New York City’s third season.

JenniferGilbertJennifer Gilbert, a successful entrepreneur who owns multiple companies, including successful event planning company Save the Date, has been married for seven years and has three children. Gilbert started Save the Date on the premise that her services were free to corporations, but she would charge the vendors. “I flipped the traditional business model. I worked more like a travel agency. I became a PR and marketing agent for venues (we now have over 2,000 in NYC alone). I re-entered the market place saying to corporations, “Let me help you, I’m free to you”.

MorganSonja Morgan comes to the show with an upper-class pedigree and full social calendar certain to make her an interesting addition. As the wife of John Adams Morgan, the great-grandson of financier JP Morgan, the 45-year-old socialite has been profiled in high-society magazine Quest and had a career as a movie producer. Under the banner Sonja Productions, Morgan executive produced the 2006 thriller “The Marsh,” starring Gabrielle Anwar and Forest Whitaker.

Contrary to reports, Morgan will not be replacing Frankel, who is developing her own reality show about her love life and career as a natural foods chef for Bravo. The network has confirmed that all six of the “Housewives” will continue to be the stars of the show’s third season. Still, with Frankel preparing for her own series, it’s possible Bravo is looking to Morgan as a future “Housewives” regular, should the series be picked up for a fourth season.

The Real Housewives of New York City’s third season has already begun production and will air in 2010.
