LA’s glitziest gals joined Jimmy Choo founder and president Tamara Mellon in West Hollywood to celebrate the launch of Jimmy Choo for H&M. Decked out in looks from the yet-to-be-seen collection, stars like Hayden Panettiere, Kate Walsh, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Whitney Port, Rashida Jones, Olivia Wilde, Diablo Cody and more toasted the high-meets-low approach to dressing with an amazing collection that is sure to sell out in seconds. Angela Lindvall, who is currently fronting the Jimmy Choo campaign, attended the event wearing Jimmy Choo for H&M shoes with her Jimmy Choo Blythe bag.

“I wanted to create looks that women could go out to holiday parties, and events in,” Tamara Mellon said at the party, which featured a performance by rapper M.I.A. “My aesthetic is to always have a rock and roll edge.”

Though this line will come with a much lower price tag than the high fashion heels the brand is known for, Diablo Cody said the name still makes her think luxe. “I think about stilettos, I think about beautiful fabrics, and I think about money that I shouldn’t have spent,” says the Oscar-winning screenplay writer for Juno. Mellon did admit: “It was a challenge for us to create high-quality pieces at an H&M price point.”

The women’s collection include a sequin-covered black jersey dress with a plunging V neckline; a one-shoulder gray suede minidress ($240); black faux fur vest ($99); a boxy zipped cashmere cardigan covered in black sequins and beads, and — Mellon’s favorite — a short-sleeve black suede minidress drenched in long suede fringes that extend past the knee.

The shoes are equally edgy. All made of leather, there are bondage-inspired high-heel sandals for evening ($129), strappy studded gladiators for day ($69.95) and stretch leather over-the-knee boots ($299).

Fashion from the new collection was on display with a who’s who of Hollywood modeling the new looks. Tamara Mellon wore an asymmetric black leather dress from her H&M line paired with a crystal-studded star clutch.

Hayden Panettiere paired a Jimmy Choo for H&M sequined zipped black cardigan, with skin tight leather pants and a zebra printed bag with studded details from the same collection. ‘I am in love with these pants,’ said Hayden of her ensemble. ‘Tamara is so brilliant and such a wonderful designer. Her shoes are incredible.”

paris-hilton-300x400Sisters Nicky and Paris Hilton both sported Jimmy Choo for H&M: Paris wore a black plunging neck jumpsuit with a faux snakeskin belt and pink plastic box clutch; Nicky chose a sparkling beaded dress paired with the same crystal-studded star clutch as Tamara. ‘I already love H&M but the fact that they are doing Jimmy Choo as well I think is amazing – the purses, the shoes, everything,’ said Paris. ‘The clothes are so cute. They have so many fabulous things and I can’t wait to get the whole collection.’

olivia wilderashida jonesmia“House” star Olivia Wilde wore a black sparkly long sleeved dress which is covered in rhinestones. Her outfit was complete with the matching black rhinestone heels and crystal-studded star clutch.

Actress Rashida Jones wore my favorite shoes from the entire collection: grey suede open-toe studded booties. She paired her fabulous footwear with the studded zebra clutch.

Always one for making a statement, M.I.A. wore a bold Jean-Charles de Castelbajac blue chiffon blouse embellished in sequins with a shark print motif paired with black leggings and Jimmy Choo towering thigh-skimming boots.
