Wednesday, worldwide star, Taylor Swift indeed got the best of both worlds, country music and pop music that is. She won entertainer of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.
In addition, she won all for awards in her nominated categories, creating history. Lucky, there was no Kanye in sight and her speech remained uninterrupted. “I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me.”
The 19-year-old crossover sensation beat the biggest names in country and also ended Carrie Underwood’s three-year dominance in the female vocalist category.
“Every single person in that category let me open up for them this year,” Swift said. “Thank you all so much. I love you.” Swift also won album of the year for “Fearless,” the top-selling CD of the year, and video of the year for “Love Story.”
Was this win a little too much for Carrie Underwood to handle? In a video announcing the end of the night co-host Brad Paisley began praising the singer, “How ’bout that? Nineteen-years old…Congratulations, Taylor. What a night. I can’t even imagine a better….” Quickly interrupting, Underwood said, “And how were we? We were awesome!”
