Generally, when you’re ‘booted’ from your reality TV show, finding another job is high on the priority list. Apparently, this is not the case for ‘fame-whore’ Jon Gosselin; he thinks he’s too much of a celeb.
His theory?
“Now, I find myself unemployed and without the ability to secure non-entertainment related engagements because the enormous Media interest, cameras, reporters and public interest makes it impossible to carry on normal daily activities, let alone find, secure and maintain a job with an employer who is willing to be exposed to the daily Media intrusions that has impeded by life.”
This is interesting since he brings it upon himself, with his choice of lifestyle. Seems his “fame” is more important then supporting family, what a guy.
In regards to the TLC contract, Jon says it was enforced “strictly and harshly towards me, while leniently, if at all, applying them towards my wife. The Plaintiff has promoted and even facilitated opportunities and appearances for my wife, yet attempts to restrain and enjoin me from making a living for my family.”
In addition, Jon has filed a $5 million dollar lawsuit against TLC saying its representatives damaged his reputation and career by preventing him from working with other media outlets.
Jon declares that the network made contact with many other media opening he had previous connections with, and persuaded them to stop dealing with him.
His lawyer stated, “Their behavior has caused Jon great anguish and it has caused him financial losses.”
Those financial losses don’t have anything to do with his new look and new pad do they?
Originally, TLC filed a lawsuit against Gosselin, saying he is in violation of his contract for making paid and unpaid TV appearances without the network’s permission.
Jon’s argument against this claim is that he and his lawyer gave TLC advanced notice for all media appearances. His counterclaim, which also includes arguments that the network broke its own contract and that he should be paid $175,000 for shows that have been already aired, was filed in District Court in Rockville, Md.
Dec. 14 of this year is the first hearing for TLC’s suite against Jon.
