Once again, the worldwide phenomenon that has taken over the lives of teens, women and vampire-bound fans alike. The “Twilight Saga: New Moon” L.A. premiere topped its lead “Twilight,” with no surprise. We have truly entered the ‘Twilight Zone”.
The much anticipated sequel was unleashed yesterday in the Los Angeles suburb of Westwood. The red carpet proved the excitement over the saga has not been extinguished. Thousands of Twi-hards singing in high-pitched shrills at the sight of the stars was just the beginning. “It is about 10 times bigger than any other city in the world,” said Robert of the crowd size.

Tears erupted and screams overshadowed the attempted interviews with the stars. Robert Pattinson, in an interview with TIME, overwhelmingly proclaimed, “I don’t know how the Beatles felt, but this is kind of … I think very few human beings can ever get this same feeling.” On the contrary, Pattinson, you are not considered human to this world, you are the ultimate symbol of vampires and the fantasies they hold.
An estimated 3,000 loud fans gathered at the debut, some camped for the five days leading to the premiere to ensure they got a substantial amount of sidewalk to claim as the Twilight cast arrived. With only 800 available tickets, pickings were slim.

Potential couple Robert and Kristen played it safe keeping clear distance from each other, in hopes to eliminate any more buzz from fans. On the other hand, Kristen and co-star, Taylor stuck together. “I’m not as scared as I was last year. At some point, the security guy said, ‘This is very unsafe.’ And I was like, ‘Uh.’ Other than that, everything was cool” said Stewart.
The fans were not there just for Bella, Jacob and Edward. Team Wolf Pack, Team Volturi, Team Cullen and even Team Rathbone were there to support. “I guess it’s a blessing, and maybe Twilight has something to do with it,” said Rathbone of his following.
The 15-year-old award winning actress, Dakota Fanning, was not far behind. She was all smiles as she made her “Twilight” debut at the premiere.
Hot new addition to the cast, Wolf Pack member, Alex Meraz admittedly said, “I meditated before I came, then I pulled up and I was still scared. It didn’t work. Everyone was screaming.”
Volturi Master, Michael Sheen, attended the carpet with none other than a personal fan, his daughter. “She’s going to remember this for the rest of her life,” he said.
It can only be predicted that the upcoming New York Premiere will be just as extravagant, if not more so.
