The wait is almost over

Ever since the Mulberry presentation at New York Fashion Week, I have been infatuated with the latest addition to their fabulous handbag collection: the Alexa.

Named after Brit “IT” girl Alexa Chung, it’s the perfect slouchy satchel with a nod to the classic shape and top flap of The Bayswater. Available in a variety of colors, the Alexa bag has pale gold hardware and added straps. ‘Inspired by and named after British style icon Alexa Chung, it reflects one of our major seasonal themes of schoolgirl naivety and effortless charm,’ say Mulberry.

The Alexa debuted at New York Fashion Week to rave reviews and ever since Chung has been photographed sporting her namesake handbag in various colors, evoking major fashion envy that left the style set in a panic about how to get one FAST.

One of the most fabulous bags on the horizon for Spring, I predict will evoke “It” bag craziness among fashionistas worldwide.

The Alexa bag has me bewitched and I’ve waited with baited breath for January to arrive so I can get my hands on what will soon be the latest addition to my handbag collection. Even though the bag won’t be available until late January, the wait-list has started for the highly coveted bag at Mulberry stores.

A call to Mulberry on Bleeker Street in NYC confirmed this and I promptly added my name to the wait list. Few details are available at this time, but I can tell you the bag will be available in three sizes: small, medium and large in addition to a clutch. When the salesperson asked which color I would be interested in (oak brown, black, blue), I replied with a quick, “Anything in the large size.” They don’t even have prices yet, but I don’t care.
