Jennifer Lopez is my makeup idol. See, I have idols for all walks of life. Jennifer Aniston is my hair idol, Carolyn Bessette – Kennedy is my style idol, the list goes on. J-Lo’s glow has always had me enraptured and trying to emulate her peaches and cream dewy look.

Beauty buffs can rejoice since Jennifer Lopez’s longtime makeup artist, Scott Barnes, just relaunched his Body Bling skin illuminator. According to Barnes: It’s how Hollywood “gets the glow”.
A radiant, tinted body moisturizer with color that leaves the skin with an instant “sun-kissed” glow. Now available in Body Bling Platinum and Body Bling Natural, this radiant tinted moisturizer “leaves skin supple, shiny and blinged out,” says Barnes. “You don’t even need to wear as many accessories when you’re wearing it!”
He used the shimmery lotion for the gorgeous portrait of Jennifer Lopez that graces the cover of his new book, About Face.
“I was creating an ‘undone glamour’ look,” he says about the cover shot. “I used tinted moisturizer, bronzed shadow on the eyes, minimal blush and mascara.”
Jennifer Lopez is also gracing another cover this month: Allure magazine’s January 2010 issue. Hairstylist Oribe joined Barnes at the photo shoot to provide J-Lo with the warm and sexy look we love. “I wanted to do a tawny, bronzy look; anyone could create it at home,” said makeup artist Scott Barnes.
First, Barnes applied pinky-peach blush to Lopez’s cheeks, then gold highlighter on her nose, cheeks, and brow bones. He then brushed a burgundy shadow on her eyelids, rimmed them with black liner, and added mascara. He kept her lips looking “natural and flesh-colored” with a gray-beige lip gloss.
To give Lopez’s hair volume and to eliminate frizz, hairstylist Oribe sprayed on Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray from his own line, then blew her hair dry with a round brush. He set her hair in hot rollers for more body and spritzed it with a finishing spray to hold the wave.
Lopez, who arrived at the shoot balancing 17-month-old twins Max and Emme on each hip (with five-inch Christian Louboutin heels on her feet) loves getting decked out for shoots and premieres. “I enjoy the glamour,” she says. “I’m like every girl who wants a glamorous life, wants to play dress-up with a closet full of fun stuff and feather boas—and a chance to dream.”
