The 67th annual Golden Globe Awards turned out to be a fabulously glamorous Hollywood night, but the fashion didn’t end there. Young Hollywood A-listers turned up in a gorgeous array of flirty frocks that were as impressive as their red carpet counterparts.
Celebrities flocked to several soirees following the awards ceremony on Sunday, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. After braving torrential downpours on the red carpet, the stars were ready to let loose and boogie into the night.
“It ain’t rainin’ in here!” shouted Quentin Tarantino at Harvey Weinstein’s after-party at Trader Vic’s. “I’m going to stay out late. We’re going to have a good time. I’ve had a blast tonight, and the blast continues on. It ain’t over yet.”
While they may not have attended the awards, Young Hollywood was out in full force and ready to party with stars such as Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Zoe, Vanessa Hudgens, AnnaLynne McCord, Molly Simms, Kate Walsh and numerous members of the Twilight cast including Kellan Lutz, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Anna Kendrick, Peter Facinelli, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Edi Gathegi.
Warner Bros.’ bash with In Style magazine at the hotel’s Oasis courtyard drew the youngest, hippest crowd, and lasted later than the other parties. It was also the only one to directly address the Haiti crisis. Buckets of blue ribbons stenciled with “Haiti will not be forsaken” sat at tables next to the red carpet.
At the end of the night, “Avatar” co-star Joel Moore reflected on the glitz and glam of Hollywood parties compared to world events. “This is a celebration of us, but this doesn’t matter,” he said. “It matters for what we’ve accomplished in the movie world, but it doesn’t matter for what’s in the bigger picture, for the fifties or hundreds of thousands of people who have died recently.”
But back to the fashion and who wore it best…
ASHLEY OLSEN
I gasped when I saw Ashley Olsen’s fabulous blue party ensemble with a cocktail dress by British-based designer Erdem and the Manolo Blahnik blue satin shoes made famous in the “Sex and the City” movie.
Erdem is known for his floral prints, but Ashley hit the Instyle after party in a fashion forward cobalt blue satin Erdem minidress with floral appliqués that adorned the bodice of the dress from the Fall / Winter 2009 collection. “I’m so excited that she wore it,” Erdem Moralioglu said. “It really suited her.”
Chic and colorful, Ashley paired the dress with matching Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels, a Fendi bag and Chopard jewels. The actress-turned-designer was there to support her boyfriend, actor Justin Bartha, whose film The Hangover, took home the award for Best Feature Film.
I was thrilled to see an American actress finally wear a design from one of my favorite new designers. Style.com called Erdem “a super-decorator and colorist who commands print and embroideries in ways that surpass expectations” after he presented his Fall 2009 collection.
Although Keira Knightley is a huge fan of Erdem, celebrities in the US haven’t caught on to his amazing designs and I hope that Ashley’s bold statement will get other stars interested in the romantic creations of this brand.
CHLOE SEVIGNY
After tearing her lilac Valentino ruffled gown, which she wore to accept her Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television, CHLOE SEVIGNY changed into a dramatic black Christian Lacroix Haute Couture dress to hit the after-parties.
With her new favorite accessory on her arm, Chloe hit the HBO after party wearing an embellished Christian Lacroix Fall 2009 Couture dress with tulle overlay. Although I did like her first look, I prefer the Lacroix since it suits Chloe’s avant-garde style. PERFECTION!
KATE BOSWORTH
Kate Bosworth glowed when she hit the red carpet at the InStyle after party. The actress was a vision in white in a Calvin Klein draped white dress from the Resort 2010 collection.
Already stunning and beautiful, Kate doesn’t need much to enhance her already gorgeous figure, but the way this dress fluidly draped down her sides and seductively hung off her shoulder made it one of the top looks of the night.
Bosworth’s fresh look was perfectly paired with white strappy stiletto and a side braid, created by celebrity hairstylist Harry Josh.
KYRA SEDGWICK
Can you believe that Kyra Sedgwick is 45-years-old? With a toned physique and natural glow, Kyra could rival most twenty-something’s in the hotness department.
Kyra often wears L’Wren Scott to red carpet events, whose sleek and fitted tailoring flatters her slim body.
But at this years Golden Globes Awards, the actress chose a deep green Vera Wang mermaid gown with a ruched bodice and cluster of floral gems at the waistline which flared at the bottom.
On her arm was the perfect accessory: husband Kevin Bacon, who won the award for Best Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for “Taking Chance.”
JESSICA SZOHR
Jessica Szohr’s unique character on Gossip Girl stands out in a sea of Upper East Side couture with her edgy garments, bold makeup and fashion forward choices.
Although Jessica’s fashion style is much like that of her character, Vanessa, she chose a more classic look for the Golden Globes after party by selecting an elegant Valentino cocktail dress.
The sheer ivory frock, from Valentino’s Spring / Summer 2010 collection, is covered in a delicate lace overlay and incredibly romantic.
The dress had a vintage feel to it in a color that perfectly complemented her skin tone.
JESSICA STROUP
I am a sucker for green so Jessica Stroup immediately caught my eye in a gorgeous green frock when she hit the Instyle after party.
The 90210 actress wore a fabulous Kelly green ruched mini dress by Bally that was fun and playful. Jessica has great style, and is always seen with fantastic boots, so she paired her girlie dress with rocker-chick black booties and smoky eye makeup.
RACHEL ZOE
The uber-stylist is responsible for outfitting the fabulously dressed stars of the night, but Rachel Zoe never fails to look high-glam and super chic.
Never one to compete with the looks of the celebrities she styled, Rachel usually opts for a unique vintage look, which differentiates her from the other women at any event. I assume the groovy silver and black beaded, off-the-shoulder dress she’s wearing is vintage and Rachel paired her show stopping dress with platform pumps, bold earrings and a chic clutch.
I DIE!

I saw a dress in my August edition of instyle on page251. A gorgeous Valentino beaded tulle short dress, but I can’t find it anywhere. Can you help me? I’ve already found ther jacket on-line from Banana Republic and would love to get the dress and shoes. It is phenomenal! Warm Regards, Dee Rhodes
