When most people hear Lia Sophia they immediately envision house parties full of woman stocking up on the latest jewelry. While there are some fabulous items available for home parties, that cost under $100, the piece-des-resistance of the Lia Sophia brand is the Celebrity Red Carpet Collection, an assortment of high-end, ultra luxurious costume jewelry.
The Red Carpet Collection is chock-full of dramatic statement pieces can be worn every day and with any outfit.
I am a longtime devotee of Lia Sophia’s Red Carpet collection will admit that I’ve amassed a collection of 13+ bracelets, 3 pairs of earrings, and 1 necklace. While this has cost me a pretty penny, anyone who knows me can tell you that these items have become my signature look and I am rarely seen without some type of statement cuff or bold bauble on.
Dani Stahl, the Style Director at Nylon Magazine who just completed her twentieth design collaboration for the label, was tapped in 2005 to bring a fresh, stylish edge to the brand and appeal to a younger audience. I first spotted an enamel buckle cuff (since retired) on socialite Tinsley Mortimer, tracked down the item, and proceeded to buy four in various colors.
Stahl’s latest creations are showcased in the Midnight collection and the Lanaya Collection.
The Midnight collection is a juxtaposition of toughness and raw femininity, filled with dark matte metals and cool shapes that are chunky without being too over-the-top. An evolved interpretation of 80s era excess and edginess, the collection contains geometric forms, contrasting metals, urban undercurrents and modern sophistication with a nightlife–inspired palette of matte black, hematite and gold metal.
Following the success of the Midnight Collection, Lia Sophia set up a gifting suite at the Sundance Film Festival to showcase their latest treasures from the Lanaya Collection.
The Lanaya Collection is inspired by the harmonious and natural beauty of Thailand’s many hidden gems. Colored pearls, a key jewelry trend this season, are prominently featured in the Lanaya collection, unconventionally combined with multitudes of chain and crystals for a very new take on a classic look.
Dani Stahl was on hand to help celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Tinsley Mortimer, Stephanie Pratt, Edie Falco, Ricki Lake, and Lil John get glamorous in her latest jewels. Actress America Ferrara fell head over heels for the Standout hoop earrings ($78) that she wore her new ear candy to the premiere of “The Dry Land.”
Since returning from Sundance, both Paris Hilton and Stephanie Pratt have been seen around town decked out in the ultra-glam Lia Sophia accessories they picked up at Sundance.
Treating herself to a delicious dinner, Paris Hilton was spotted arriving at Benihana Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles on January 28 looking lovely in black & white frock.
Paris accessorized her look with her favorite pieces from the Lia Sophia Lanaya Collection and Midnight II Collection: Zipper Necklace with Black Diamond Crystals in Matte Hematite ($700); Wave Cuff Bracelet with Black Diamond Crystals in Matte Black ($450); and a Cosmic Ring with Black Diamond Crystals in Matte Black ($175).
“The Hills” star Stephanie Pratt was also spotted decked out in Lia Sophia jewelry at a post-Grammy event for SuperModels Unlimited Magazine.
Stephanie looked rocker chic in a sparkly one-shoulder minidress paired with black leather booties and my favorites pieces from Lia Sophia: Baguette Link Bracelet ($450); and Studded Pyramid Stretch Bracelet ($400.00)
In an interesting fashion twist, both Paris Hilton and Stephanie Pratt were seen wearing the same Brian Lichtenberg dress to different events and both accessorized with Lia Sophia jewels. Talk about a fashion faceoff!
Paris wore her Brian Lichtenberg dress to Fox Reality Channel’s Rally Awards in LA on October 15, 2009 while Stephanie wore her Brian Lichtenberg dress to an event at PURE on February 2, 2010.
Paris accessorized her polished look with matte black Geometric Earrings ($175); a matte black Graphic Ring ($175); and a matte black Geometric Ring ($125).
Meanwhile, Stephanie went for a bolder look and wore her hair up in loose curls to showcase her statement neckpiece: Lia Sophia Zipper Necklace in Matte Hematite ($700); and matching Zipper Stretch Bracelet in Matte Hematite ($400).
