“LONG LIVE MCQUEEN” T-Shirt; Final Presentation To Take Place in Paris Next Week

March 5th, 2010 · 1 Comment

To celebrate the life and legacy of Alexander McQueen, Hint Fashion magazine  partnered with Christopher Sauvé (designer of the “Save Anna” tees) to design a commemorative T-shirt.

Alexander McQueen & Philip Treacy

The unisex shirt features the designer’s pensive visage set against a graphic background of roses and the heart-felt words “Long Live McQueen.”

In McQueen’s honor, a portion of proceeds will go to the Terrence Higgins Trust, the largest HIV/AIDS organization in the UK—which he long supported, his rep confirmed.

The $65 unisex t-shirt is available for pre-order purchase at http://www2.hintmag.com/department/hint-shop.

While I love the thought that went into the garment, I don’t care for the image which reminds me of a dark tattoo. Hopefully the House of McQueen will create a commemorative t-shirt, complete with Lee’s signature zest for creativity.

In other Alexander McQueen news, the designer’s final show which was scheduled to be held during Paris Fashion Week has been canceled. The label will instead hold an invite-only Fall 2010 presentation / memorial on March 9 and 10, but due to the sensitive nature of the event all photographs have been banned. Therefore, media outlets will be given images of the looks after the presentation.

Stay tuned for images from the final Alexander McQueen collection next week.
