Wearing blood red dresses, and matching cherry stained lips, the lovely ladies of Twilight: Eclipse vamped it up for the July issue of Vanity Fair.

Five vampires (Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Bryce Dallas Howard) and one lone lady werewolf (Julia Jones) posed in a stunning spread, each wearing a spectacular designer dress. All of the girls look amazing, but Dakota Fanning stands out in a retro hairdo and Prabal Gurung Fall 2010 lame gown with black satin underlay.

The five young actresses have a lot to look forward to as the release of the new Twilight film “Eclipse” quickly approaches. “You don’t have to be psychic to know how this movie’s going to do. Obviously it’s going to be a hit,” said Greene, who plays Edward’s sister, Alice.

Howard, the daughter of director Ron Howard, is new to the franchise as the replacement for vampire-with-a-vengeance Victoria: “I had seen Twilight innumerable times. After I saw it for the fourth time, one of my best guy friends, for my birthday, made me Post-it notes with Robert Pattinson’s face that said, ‘Live Dangerously,’ because I was so obsessed. My husband actually said to me, ‘Do I need to be worried about this?’”.

Eclipse (finally) opens in theaters on June 30.

The Twilight Saga won two awards at last night’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles: Taylor Lautner won Favorite Movie Actor while Jacob Black and Bella Swan, played by Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart, took home the award for Favorite Cutest Couple, beating out Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan.

Taylor Lautner was on hand to accept his award saying “I have to admit I have always dreamt of winning one of these orange blimps.”

Jackson Rathbone who plays the role of Jasper Hale and was promoting his new film The Last Airbender, attended the event with Twilight cast member Nikki Reed, who plays the role of Rosalie Hale.

Nikki Reed hit the orange carpet in a strapless Cynthia Steffe Spring 2010 floral minidress with a sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical tiers.

The dress was pretty, but her accessories were killer: Jimmy Choo Nina Patent Sandals and a silver Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

On Thursday evening, Houston Street was transformed from New York City block to the Twilight Zone as police barricades filtered pedestrian traffic and suited men with earpieces roamed about the Landmark Sunshine Theater. “This is crazy,” said one photographer. “It’s like you’re going to meet the pope!” Of course, the crowds descended on Houston Street to catch a glimpse of the First Family of Vampire Cinema as they attended the NYC unveiling of “New Moon,” the second installment of the “Twilight” series.

The D & G-sponsored Cinema Society screening of “Twilight Saga: The New Moon” brought out the entire cast on the eve of the films release for one last soiree, before they all hibernate for a few weeks after the maddening press schedule they’ve kept over the past few weeks.

Almost the entire cast wore, who else, D&G to the fashion-duo sponsored event. Kristen Stewart opted for a pleated, olive Valentino frock and Sergio Rossi platform peep-toes.

Robert Pattinson paired his sexy scruff with a classic black tuxedo and unbuttoned grey shirt – both by Dolce & Gabbana. Taylor Lautner covered up his newly buff body in a dapper navy suit (his red carpet stand-by shade), grey shirt and silver tie – all by D&G. Former model Kellan Lutz worked it in a charcoal Dolce & Gabbana suit paired with a white shirt and black tie from the Italian designers.

Ashley Greene has really hit it out of the park every time while promoting “New Moon” and last night was no different. The fashionista wore a glorious black and cream, butterfly appliqué, D&G cocktail dress with a black sash tied at the waist. As usual, sheer perfection.

Nikki Reed shined in a gold satin D&G cocktail dress with a light-catching crystal embellished neckline paired with strappy Jimmy Choo platform sandals.

“Robert, Taylor, and Kristen, who no longer even need last names,” the film’s director, Chris Weitz, said as he introduced the cast to his friends. “This might be the most beautiful screening I’ve been to,” Weitz added. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more glamorous audience watch a movie.”

The audiences was filled with a show-stopping crowd of NYC’s finest including Jessica Szohr accompanied by boyfriend Ed Westwick, Fergie, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Stam, Natalie Portman, Alexa Chung, and Ivanka Trump.  

Nearly the entire room sat swiveled in the chairs, focusing attention not on the screen but rather on a row near the back of the auditorium that was designated for the cast. And then, before the lights even dimmed in the theater, the troupe scooped up their darkened tresses and left.

Perhaps paparazzi flashbulbs act like daylight on vampires, because Pattinson and co. were still missing in action at the after-party at The Box. “Where are the bloody Cullens?” Agyness Deyn exclaimed to Alexa Chung.

The entire “Twilight: New Moon” cast flew in from Vancouver where they will start filming the third installment in the series, “Eclipse,” shortly. The cast did not stop for interviews, but did pose for photos on the red carpet which will certainly quench the thirst of Twilight fans. The Cullen men were out in force: Robert Pattinson (Edward), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) and Kellan Lutz (Emmett) in addition to wolf pack hottie Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black). Also in attendance were of the ladies of Twilight: Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Nikki Reed (Rosilee Cullen). The guys looked hot, the gals looked fierce and the cast didn’t disappoint.

The guys all sported collared shirts and Rob paired his with a sport coat while Jackson, Kellan and Taylor paired theirs with dark vests. They all looked youthful, but still age appropriate. The girls took a different approach with Ashley and Nikki going for a more standard red carpet out of gorgeous dresses while Kristen proved she beats to the rytham of her own drum in an unexpected spiky skirted rocker chic dress.

Kristen Stewart has really taken a liking to the Joan Jett look as she’s currently filming the singer’s biopic “The Runaways.” Stewart rocked the red carpet with an edgy and sharp look sporting a black dress with plunging neckline (which she paired with a white tank to cover her décolletage) and spiky metal skirt which appeared to have nails hanging from it. The ornate pins hung from her mid-section to the thigh and were a bold statement on the red carpet. The 19-year-old actress paired the dress with Jerome C. Rousseau black peep toe ankle boots and newly black hair pulled back.

“Twilight” other leading ladies – Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed – took a different approach to red carpet fashion with spectacular dresses more appropriate for the event. Ashley, 22, wore a light blue corset-inspired strapless minidress with floral print skirt by Dolce & Gabbana and carried a “Luna” evening bag by Raven Kauffman Couture. Nikki wore a plunging neck dress in a peachy hue with what appeared to be an animal print. The dress had silver piping, which was picked up in the silver metallic studs on her black leather clutch. Gorgeous!

The Queen Bee, Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, picked up the award for Choice TV Actress at the awards. The 23-year-old actress wore a black and white, geometric print  Louis Vuitton dress paired with bold red Brian Atwood “Zenith” Mary Janes, Cathy Waterman jewels and a Nina Ricci clutch.

Emma Roberts took my breath away and showed off her chic fashion sense in a fitted white cap sleeved mini dress with bold black beaded necklace detail by Monique Lhuillier. This dress was so simple and when paired with a bold, statement necklace the look goes the look over the top. I am in love with this! Can you believe she is only 19-years old?

Vanessa Hudgens is one of my favorites young kadies to watch on the red carpet since she always looks appropriate, fashion forward and breathtaking. Hudgens wore a plunging purple Christian Dior minidress with chiffon detailed bodice and bubble skirt. The stylish 20-year-old actress finished off her look with luscious wavy locks and “Maniac” pumps by Brian Atwood.

I had to do a double take when I saw Kim Kardashian. The bombshell premiered a new look at the awards show: block hair. Kardashian was practically unrecognizable as she sported freshly highlighted BLOND hair that transformed her into a golden girl. She said it was her first-ever actual dye job and since it was the end of summer, she was in the mood for something new.

Comeback queen, Britney Spears, who is being honored with the Ultimate Choice Award attended the event looking tan and toned in a black minidress with asymmetrical shoulder strap. Spears wore her blond long hair straight, dyed back after a recent run of dark brown hair. Blondes do have more fun.
